Free Movement of People: Bulgaria and Romania

From 1 January 2014 the transitional controls on free movement included in the accession treaties and adopted by the UK and seven other Member States when Bulgaria and Romania joined the EU in 2007, will end.  From that date Bulgarians and Romanians will have the freedom to live and work in those eight Member States (and in Spain, which has only had transitional controls on Romanian nationals).

… There has been a lively debate in the UK about how many Bulgarians and Romanians will come to the UK after 1 January 2014 and the British Government has announced it is looking at the rules governing social security claims as a consequence of this and future EU enlargements.

Do you want over a million Romanians and Bulgarians moving to crowded, bankrupt Britain?

Spain and Italy have not had restrictions on Romanians and Bulgarians. So let’s see what has happened there. Currently there are about 920,000 Romanians and 170,000 Bulgarians in Spain. In Italy there are about 997,000 Romanians and over 70,000 Bulgarians. Britain has much more generous benefits and more jobs than Spain or Italy, So the absolute minimum number that will be moving here will be well over one million. Probably it will be closer to two million.
Now, let’s look at some other figures. Unemployment amongst Romanians and Bulgarians in Spain is 36.4% – that’s about 396,760 immigrants who are unemployed. So we can expect somewhere in the region of 400,000 Romanians and Bulgarians to be claiming benefits for housing, council tax and unemployment here in Britain.

Using Science on Behalf of Whites (As Opposed to Being Used By It)

Lawrence, on November 12: “The test (attributing 14% Sub-Saharan DNA to Craig Cobb) may be bullshit but an independent test would confirm that if it is indeed the case.”

DanielS: It could be, but it isn’t ultimately necessary. There is another aspect to this.

It shows the perils of scientism: being used by scientific concepts rather than using them. With that, how our enemies can use scientism against us.

Murder in Athens

Posted by Guessedworker on Saturday, 02 November 2013 10:45.

Here is the official statement by George of Golden Dawn’s New York division about the murders of two GD members outside the party’s Athens offices yesterday evening.

From the Guardian article:

Crisis-plagued Greece was thrown into further turmoil on Friday after two members of the far-right Golden Dawn party were shot dead in what police called a “terrorist attack” outside one of the organisation’s offices in Athens.

Two men, described as a 20 and 23-year-old, died instantly in the drive-by shooting, according to a statement released by the extremist group.

“Two helmeted terrorists on a motorbike stopped in front of Golden Dawn’s offices in [the northern Athens suburb of] Neo Iraklio while the office was open and a lot of people were [gathered around] its entrance,” said the party.

“The co-rider got off [the bike] and in cold blood executed two young men at a distance of about half a metre. Before leaving the terrorists fired again … they literally emptied their weapons [of bullets] on top of them.”

A third Golden Dawn member, identified as a 29-year-old father of one, was fighting for his life in an Athens hospital after being severely injured in the hail of gunfire.

“His situation is very critical,” the country’s health minister Adonis Georgiadis told Skai TV.

Police said the attack, conducted with an MB5 machine gun, bore all the hallmarks of a well-organised terrorist operation although government officials insisted they were not ruling out any scenario.

And the singing of the the Greek national anthem on the evening of 2nd November at the memorial to the fallen,Giorgos Foudoulis and Manos Kapeloni :

I shall always recognize you
by the dreadful sword you hold
as the Earth with searching vision
you survey with spirit bold

From the Greeks of old whose dying
brought to life and spirit free
now with ancient valour rising
let us hail you, oh Liberty!

A note to James and Graham

Posted by Guessedworker on Friday, 01 November 2013 11:16.

I have been pondering for some time how to respond to James’s complaint about his contest with Graham Lister, and his subsequent withdrawal from the blog.  I do not want to explore Graham’s stinging criticism of theories which he sees as irredeemably liberalistic, yet worse, religious in kind, and of terminologies incorrectly applied from the biological sciences.  If he is right (and I think, broadly, he is) Graham is also caustically dismissive and that is unhelpful to his own argument and not in the peer spirit which intelligent researchers of the questions which preoccupy us owe one another.

For his part, James is understandably protective of his own intellectual project, the component parts of which – the contractualism, the commentary on ecology and eusociality, the commentary on Jewish dominance and virulence, the reification of the duel, the search for foundation in mathematics, etc – look more sign than sein to me at this point. But these are early days and rather than fall to non-mortal combat over whether these constitute an incomplete collection of parts because they are the wrong parts, let us return to reflection on the problem we are all trying to solve.  And I do mean all of us – all who come here, whether they are politically nationalist, conservative, traditionalist, or communitarian.

I once read long ago in a memoir by some misguided Russian fatalist that none of us ever really rests from trying to solve the great, glowering problem of mortality.  We may think we are pleasantly immersed in the flow of life’s petty concerns, but somewhere in our mental processes we keep returning to this problem.  Even in our moments of greatest happiness and triumph, or on the rare occasions we are sucked into some big, adrenalin-charging, Sein-zum-Tode event – perhaps a pairwise duel - the diversion is fleeting and we quickly return to trying to decipher the silence and unknowableness of death’s void.  We sense it all around us, in the great rush of our children to grow up, in our wry regret for our own advancing age, in our tenderness for the object of our love, in the way that the fairy-gold of sex slips through the fingers of memory, in memories themselves, in long friendships, in loss, in faith, in hope, in the very processes which stubbornly maintain our bodily existence.

Nazism As Overstated Premise of White Nationalism and False Either/Or

Posted by DanielS on Friday, 25 October 2013 10:22.

Oder-Niesse
Border changes after World War II

It is a particularly important preliminary note that there is virtually nobody here who had anything to do with events of World War II. That fact is most relevant. Under that rubric, let us begin:

Hitler and Nazism as an overstated premise in representation of White/European nationalism; and Hitler and Nazism or the international Jew as false either/or.

Method:

Working hypotheses will be advanced

as to why these logical fallacies are being adopted despite their apparent obviousness;

how they are mistaken;

and remedies will be proposed in cooperative nationalism.

Statements will be set out as hypotheses to allow for efficient positioning of historical viewpoints as they emerge practical in argumentative service of cooperative European nationalism. In addition to the practical efficiency of hypotheses for unburdening detail, the modesty of unfinished claims is meant to facilitate participation from the commentariat to elaborate, correct and amend the hypotheses - i.e., to make optimal use of Majority Rights discussion format.

* Note: in comment number 2, I erred in grammatical present tense when discussing Brelsau (Wroclaw). Which, according to the Treaty of Versailles and through World War II, remained German. There would have been no good argument to that point in time for its not being German.

Et maintenant, les bonnes nouvelles

Posted by Guessedworker on Thursday, 10 October 2013 22:22.

While ethnic nationalism is so weak in Britain, and many nationalists are weighing up whether UKIP is a cause for strategic support, in France prospects are bright - particularly for the European Parliament elections which will be held in May 2014.

From the DT today:

France’s far-Right FN party tops polls ahead of EU elections
A new opinion poll says that France’s National Front party could be set for a major electoral breakthrough in next May´s elections to the European Parliament

After winning 6.4 million votes in last year’s French presidential vote, the far right National Front (FN) party could be set for another major step towards the political mainstream in next May´s elections to the European Parliament, a new opinion poll said.

One in four of the 1,893 voters questioned for the Ifop survey said they will vote for the anti-Muslim party led by Marine Le Pen that wants to radically curb immigration, pull France out of the euro and reinstate border controls.

The conservative UMP, the party of ex-president Nicolas Sarzoky, scored 22 percent against the FN’s 24 percent, while President Francois Hollande’s ruling Socialists came third with 19 percent, according to the poll published in the Nouvel Observateur magazine.

Ifop said it was the first time in French political history that the FN has been in the lead in a poll on voting intentions for a national vote.

“The French are showing a wish to take their destiny into their hands and give back their country its sovereignty,” said FN secretary general Steeve Briois, whose party took just 6.34 percent of the vote at the last European-wide elections in 2009.

The original article in Nouvelle Observateur is here.  It makes it plain that of the major parties only FN is growing support at this time.  It is coming from the elderly, the working-class, and the failing support of Hollande’s Socialists.  The other parties are protecting themselves for the moment by forming blocs of the left and right, holding around a third of the vote a piece.  But the poll company predicts that FN will not be held back.  It will emerge not as a force generating mere political disturbance, as in the past, but as one breaking the mold of a tired and failing system.

The sudden end of the EDL

Posted by Guessedworker on Tuesday, 08 October 2013 23:23.

The diverting tale of the English Defence League has, in all probability, come to its end.  Tommy Robinson (or Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, or perhaps Paul Harris) and his lieutenant Kevin Carroll have resigned and taken up positions at the Moslem-led, government-approved Quilliam Foundation.  It is entirely reasonable to believe that the Robinson/Carroll departures are the fruit of SO15/MI5 pressure brought to bear, most probably, from the time of Robinson’s last prison sentence.  Tommy Robinson is also reported to be planning to establish a political group of some kind.  QF exists to fight “extremism” of all kinds, so it is likely that we will see Tommy Robinson denouncing “Nazis” and “fascists” alongside the usual mentally-ill suspects of UAF, Hope not Hate, etc.

Nick Griffin’s reaction to the news is here.

The EDL had begun in great hope in Luton four years ago and provided some interesting spectacle along the way.  At its height the membership was claimed by the leadership to number 100,000, although it was assessed by some “researchers” (ie, anti-racists) at a third of that.  It very likely lost a good deal of impetus as the Jewish roots of Counter-Jihadism became better known in the wake of the Breivik event.  The organisation had been waning over the year or so prior to the murder of Drummer Lee Rigby, whereupon it experienced an upturn.  There are some splinter organisations which will attempt to carry forward its street activism, most notably The Casuals and, in the north, The Infidels.  But be under no illusion that disintegration is the highly likely result of this latest development.

Anti-Jihadism was never, in any case, an honest or intelligent response to the crisis which the English working-class is facing.  It was heartening to see white men taking to the streets.  But the cause was not their cause, and we still await an organisation of any kind which will effectively articulate that.
